When we arrived at Harrington Farm, the rain started almost immediately and stayed with us through much of the day. While it wasn't the forecast anyone hoped for, it quickly became clear that the weather wasn't going to take away from how special this wedding would be.
Jada began the day with a few emotional moments, her mom and sister helped her get dressed and then she shared a special first look with her dad, her bridesmaids, and her aunt before seeing Devin. With the rain coming down steadily, the covered front porch provided the perfect place for Jada and Devin's first look. They also exchanged private vows there, making the quiet moment even more meaningful. We captured a few portraits together before the wind and rain became too much and we moved inside.
The fireplace at Harrington Farm made a beautiful backdrop for wedding party and family photographs while everyone stayed warm and dry. Then, almost as if it had been planned, the rain let up just in time for the ceremony.
Jada and Devin were able to have the outdoor ceremony they had hoped for on the ceremony patio. The light mist hanging in the air made the colors throughout the property feel especially vibrant and gave everything a soft, almost magical look. After the ceremony, we had just enough time to explore the grounds for a few more portraits before they joined family and friends for cocktail hour and the rain began falling again.
These two have been together for years. They met while they were both working at the Davis Farmland Mega Maze in high school and stayed together ever since, even through the years they spent long distance while Jada was away at college. Watching them together, it was easy to see that the rain never really mattered. They were surrounded by so much love from everyone there to celebrate with them.
Their wedding colors were beautiful, with sage green bridesmaid dresses, gray suits for the groomsmen, and gorgeous floral arrangements featuring bright sunflowers that added warmth to the rainy day.
The celebration continued inside with a fun choreographed first dance, thoughtful and sweet toasts, an adorable father-daughter dance, and a packed dance floor all evening. Partway through the reception, Jada changed into a party dress and was ready to dance the rest of the night away with Devin and all of their favorite people.
Rainy wedding days often create some of the most memorable moments, and Jada and Devin's celebration at Harrington Farm was a perfect example. It was a day filled with joy, laughter, and a love story that started years ago and continues to grow. We are so happy to have been a part of Jada and Devin's day. Congratulations!
