A Bilingual Catholic Ceremony at Holy Family Church in Leominster and Reception at Harrington Farm in Princeton, MA
Catherine and Esteban’s early September wedding was a very special day celebrating two incredibly kind people, surrounded by family and friends who had come together from near and far.
We started the day at Catherine’s maid of honor Christine’s house, where Catherine got ready with her side before heading to Holy Family Church in Leominster. At the church, we caught up with Esteban for a few last minute getting ready photos before the ceremony began.
And then the September weather decided to make things interesting.
The day had started sunny and warm, but just as Catherine arrived at the church, the skies opened up with an absolute downpour. Once everyone was safely inside, Catherine and Esteban had a beautiful full Catholic Mass celebrated in both English and Spanish. The bilingual ceremony was such a meaningful way to include everyone in attendance, especially with Esteban’s family traveling all the way from Ecuador to be there for the wedding. This year also marks Esteban’s parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, making it an especially meaningful year for their family to celebrate marriage together.
Almost perfectly timed, as soon as Catherine and Esteban were officially married, the sun came back out and began shining through the church windows.
After the ceremony, we headed to Harrington Farm in Princeton, MA for the reception. We started with family and wedding party photos around the property before taking Catherine and Esteban out for their couple photos. The sun was still out when we began, but it wasn’t long before another round of rain moved in.
Catherine and Esteban were completely up for the adventure, so instead of immediately heading inside, we kept photographing through the light rain. It made for some fun photos and worked perfectly until the sprinkle suddenly turned into another downpour. We made a run for the farmhouse, where Catherine and Esteban had a chance to dry off, enjoy some champagne and appetizers, and wait for the worst of the rain to pass.
Once it let up, we snuck back outside and used the covered porches around the farmhouse for a few more couple photos before joining cocktail hour. We also finished up a few additional family photos under the tent while everyone enjoyed drinks and appetizers.
As cocktail hour came to an end, Catherine tossed her bouquet from the steps before she and Esteban greeted their guests in a receiving line. We photographed each guest with the newlyweds as they made their way into the reception, giving Catherine and Esteban a photo with so many of the people who had come to celebrate with them.
Inside, the evening began with a gorgeous first dance followed by lovely toasts. And after all of the rain earlier in the day, we even got a break in the clouds that gave us a chance to sneak outside for sunset photos around Harrington Farm.
The rest of the evening was filled with dinner, visiting with family and friends, and live music from the band. After a day that brought sunshine, warm weather, sprinkles, downpours, and a sunset, Catherine and Esteban took it all in stride and simply enjoyed celebrating together with the people they love.
