Allison and Chris had one of those August wedding days that could not have been more perfect. The weather was warm without being too hot, the grounds at Harrington Farm were green and full, and the summer flowers were at their peak.
From the start, Allison and Chris were such a pleasure to work with, and the same could be said for their families and wedding party. Allison looked gorgeous in her strapless wedding gown and long veil, while Chris wore a classic black suit. The bridesmaids wore light pink, with Allison’s sisters in pink floral dresses, and the groomsmen wore blue. Everyone was relaxed, fun, and ready to celebrate.
Allison and Chris decided not to do a first look, so we used the time before the ceremony to photograph as many family and wedding party combinations as possible while keeping the two of them separate. As teachers, these two definitely know how to stick to a schedule, and the entire day ran perfectly on time!
After the ceremony, we finished their full wedding party and family photographs before heading out around the Harrington Farm grounds for photos of Allison and Chris together. August is such a beautiful time for a Harrington Farm wedding, and we made sure to visit the huge patch of brown eyed Susans blooming near the front of the property. The bright yellow flowers made the perfect summer backdrop for some of our favorite photographs of the day.
Because we had completed so many of their formal photographs before the ceremony, Allison and Chris even had time to join their guests for the end of cocktail hour before heading into the reception.
They kicked off the evening with their first dance before everyone settled in for dinner. During dinner, we snuck outside for a few more photographs as the sun went down over the field. One of our favorite little details inside was a congratulations banner made for Allison by her students, displayed near the gift table. It was such a fun and personal addition to the reception.
After dinner, guests were treated to a cannoli station, followed by Allison and Chris cutting their wedding cake. Then the dance floor opened, and the rest of the night was spent dancing, visiting, and celebrating with the friends and family who had gathered for them.
It was a beautiful summer wedding from beginning to end, and we loved getting to photograph Allison and Chris during such a perfect August day at Harrington Farm.
