A Cozy December Wedding at Publick House
Meg and Nick’s December wedding day started off a little wild, with heavy rain and strong winds that felt anything but winter-wonderland-like. But just as we began photos, the rain eased up and the weather took a turn for the better, setting the stage for a truly memorable celebration.
They shared their first look in front of the giant gingerbread house, which felt perfectly on theme for a December wedding at the Publick House. From there, we were able to head outside and explore the beautifully decorated grounds. The festive garlands, twinkling lights, and the Christmas tree sales area felt straight out of a holiday movie, cozy, classic, and full of charm. We photographed wedding party portraits outdoors, then moved inside for family photos before the ceremony.
Their ceremony was lovely and meaningful, and afterward we captured extended family photos during cocktail hour in front of the Christmas tree inside Paige Hall. As the evening continued, something truly special happened. After their first dance and toasts, snow began to fall. We snuck outside for a few quiet minutes to photograph Meg and Nick in the snow, creating the most magical winter wedding portraits. Meg didn’t hesitate for a second, even with freezing feet, she was so excited to see the snow falling after the wind and rain earlier in the day.
After everything they experienced weather-wise, they absolutely earned that moment. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful winter celebration.
Meg and Nick are genuinely some of the kindest people, and it meant so much to be there for them. We’ve been photographing Meg’s family for many years, and being trusted to continue documenting these milestones is one of the most meaningful parts of what we do. We’re so grateful to have been part of their day.
