Valentine’s Day morning felt like the perfect time for Melanie and Dominic to begin their marriage at The Publick House in Sturbridge, Massachusetts.
Their day was intimate, intentional, and centered entirely around the two of them.
Melanie and Dominic first knew each other as kids. Life took them in different directions for a while, but years later they reconnected and rekindled their relationship. Their wedding felt like a full circle moment. A quiet celebration of something that had always been there.
They chose to be married on Valentine’s Day, which also happened to be Dominic’s father’s birthday. That detail made the day feel even more meaningful, adding another layer of love and remembrance to an already special morning.
They kept their guest list very small. Melanie’s mom was the only guest, which made everything feel deeply personal and relaxed.
They were married in front of the fireplace inside the Tillyer House at The Publick House. Outside, fresh winter snow covered the grounds, but inside it was warm and glowing. The Valentine’s theme was subtle and classic, with romantic touches that felt timeless rather than trendy.
With just the three of them gathered by the fire, the ceremony felt calm and meaningful. No distractions. Just promises, laughter, and a few emotional moments.
After the ceremony, we stepped outside for portraits across The Publick House property. Snow blanketed the historic grounds, and the crisp winter air gave everything that soft New England glow. It was a little chilly and a bit windy, but Melanie and Dominic embraced it completely. They held each other close, laughed through the cold, and leaned into the moment.
Following portraits, they returned inside for a private dinner together. Just the three of them sharing a meal and celebrating the start of their marriage.
Melanie and Dominic’s Valentine’s Day elopement at The Publick House in Sturbridge was a reminder that a wedding does not have to be large to be meaningful. Sometimes the smallest celebrations carry the most weight. Joe was honored to document this cozy winter morning and to witness such a personal beginning.
