Marissa and Colby’s early September wedding at Stevens Estate at Osgood Hill in North Andover, MA was the perfect start to the fall wedding season. It was a gorgeous sunny day for a garden party wedding, with so many beautiful details throughout the estate and grounds.
We met Marissa and Colby as they arrived at Stevens Estate and started with getting ready photos in the suites upstairs. The historic mansion is such a beautiful setting for this part of the day. Everywhere you look there is something interesting, from the stonework and hand carved wood details to the tin ceilings, arched doorways, and windows overlooking the property.
Once they were ready, we headed outside for Marissa and Colby’s first look and couple photos around the grounds. Stevens Estate has so many different options for wedding photos without having to travel far from the mansion. We used the gardens, trees, stonework, arches, and some of the quieter areas around the property, giving us plenty of variety while keeping everything relaxed and close to where the rest of the day was happening.
After couple photos, we met up with their wedding party and families for photos on the back lawn with the mansion in the background. Having so many portrait locations close together gave us plenty of time for photos before everyone headed to the lawn for the ceremony.
Marissa and Colby were married in a beautiful garden ceremony surrounded by family and friends. They wrote their own vows, which were personal, sweet, and fit the two of them perfectly. During the ceremony, they also placed letters to one another with a bottle of wine to save and open on their fifth wedding anniversary.
After they were officially married, we stayed on the lawn for a few extended family photos while their guests headed to cocktail hour. The sunroom and porch at Stevens Estate made a gorgeous setting for everyone to enjoy drinks and appetizers while overlooking the grounds.
Toward the end of cocktail hour, the light was too good to pass up, so we stole Marissa and Colby away for a few more photos around the estate. The early September golden hour gave us a completely different look from their earlier portraits and was well worth sneaking away for a few minutes.
The reception took place under the tent, with navy and burgundy details that felt perfect for the beginning of the fall wedding season. Marissa had even crocheted bags for their guests as favors, adding such a personal handmade detail to the tables.
Marissa and Colby started the evening with their first dance, followed by toasts from their loved ones and a wonderful dinner. Later there was a cake cutting, a dance between Colby and his mom, and plenty of time for everyone to enjoy the dance floor and photo booth.
Before the night was over, we brought Marissa and Colby outside one more time for a few nighttime wedding photos around Stevens Estate. The mansion and grounds that had been so beautiful in the September sunshine gave us another completely different setting after dark.
From getting ready inside the historic mansion to portraits around the gardens, a ceremony on the lawn, golden hour photos, and a reception under the tent, Stevens Estate at Osgood Hill was such a beautiful setting for Marissa and Colby’s wedding day. More importantly, it was a day filled with personal details, family, friends, and plenty of fun celebrating these two. Congratulations Marissa & Colby!
