October weddings in New England are pretty hard to beat, and Kayla and Ryan's wedding at Spencer Country Inn in Spencer, MA was a perfect example of why! The fall foliage was gorgeous, the October light was amazing, and while it was definitely a chilly day, everyone was ready to celebrate!


This wedding was especially fun for us because Joe had photographed Kayla as a bridesmaid in a couple of weddings years ago. We always love getting to work with familiar faces, especially when they're as excited to have us there as we are to photograph them! Kayla is hilarious, sweet, and so much fun to be around, and Ryan is just an all-around great guy. They have five kids, ranging from 11 years old down to their one-year-old twins, and the kids had some pretty important roles as their wedding party. They did such a great job!


Despite the chilly temperatures, Kayla had her heart set on an outdoor ceremony, and we're so glad she stuck with that plan! With the fall colors surrounding them and the sun beginning to set, it was such a beautiful setting. A friend officiated their ceremony and did a wonderful job making it personal, sweet, and full of moments that reflected Kayla and Ryan.


Since they decided not to do a first look, we had to make the most of the remaining daylight during cocktail hour. We worked our way through family photos and couple portraits as the sun dipped lower, and that October light did not disappoint! We even managed to catch some beautiful sunset photos before heading inside to warm up.


The reception was just as much fun as we expected it would be! After introductions and their first dance, everyone enjoyed some great toasts, Ryan shared a dance with his mom, and Kayla surprised her sister with a special dance just for the two of them. We also managed to squeeze in a photo dash and a giant group photo with everyone at the wedding!


And of course, we can't talk about this wedding without mentioning the Gas Pedal! When Joe first met Kayla years ago, she was a bridesmaid tearing up the dance floor doing the Gas Pedal. Well, some things never change! This time she did it in her wedding dress, and it was every bit as entertaining as we remembered!


Kayla and Ryan, we had SO much fun celebrating with you and your family! From your beautiful outdoor ceremony to all the laughter on the dance floor, this was one of those weddings that reminded us just how much we love what we do. Thank you for having us be part of it!
