Michael & Gerry’s York, Maine Wedding Weekend


This past weekend we had the absolute pleasure of photographing our friends Michael and Gerry’s welcome party and wedding in York, Maine. It is always so special to be trusted to capture moments for friends, and these two planned the most epic weekend for their family and friends.


A Backyard Welcome Party Overlooking the Ocean

The celebrations began with a gorgeous backyard welcome party at their home, complete with a sailcloth tent, outdoor heaters, and catering by Walkers. There were more hors d’oeuvres and signature drinks than anyone could count, and their lawn overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Nubble Lighthouse looked incredible. It was the perfect start to a weekend built around Michael’s chosen theme of community, and it was so clear just how strong and beautiful their circle of family and friends is.

A Perfect Wedding Day

The weather was perfect all weekend long. On the wedding day, Michael and Gerry started the afternoon with a first look and photos at their home with their beloved dog Tucker and their wedding party. They also carried on their tradition of taking a porch photo with the group. From there, the trolleys brought the grooms, their families, and their wedding party to Nubble Light for more portraits before continuing on to Hartley Mason Reserve for additional photos and to get ready for the ceremony. 


Hartley Mason Reserve was the perfect setting for their ceremony. This cliffside park is so perfectly Maine with its rocky coast, sweeping ocean views, and beautifully natural landscaping. Grassy hills and granite benches overlook the water, creating a breathtaking space that felt both grand and intimate. Their ceremony was officiated by Michael’s brother Ryan, with the Atlantic Ocean as their backdrop and even a perfectly timed sailboat drifting by. Michael wore a navy suit and Gerry wore a gray suit, both with sage green ties, while their wedding party wore blue dresses and their adult flower girls wore blue floral dresses. They all looked perfect!


Celebration at the York Harbor Reading Room

After the ceremony, everyone made their way to the York Harbor Reading Room, a stunning venue with ocean views. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour and dinner, where the venue was decorated to perfection and both grooms’ sisters gave beautiful toasts. Their cake was baked by Michael’s sister Sarah, and the dessert table overflowed with favorite family recipes made by loved ones.


The night ended with a packed dance floor, laughter, and the joy of seeing Michael and Gerry surrounded by their family and friends. It was a weekend full of love, celebration, and fun. These two thought of everything, created such a nice event for their people, and we were so happy to be part of it all. Congratulations Michael and Gerry, we loved being there for every moment!
